| Well, this is my first time posting any photos or links; I apologize for any mistakes if any. I am entering this project but am unsure as to which category may belong. This is a "Lexan" Rat Rod AXIAL Rock Crawler body but also is kind of a scale vehicle. The project is completed, a few minor details are left to work out prior display at Team Valadez Hobby Store for the final stage of the contest. NOTE; I am doing all the painting with Spray Cans, have no Air Brush available, will have to make do with whatever is at hand many accessories are hand made or junk parts from some other toys. Please bear with me.... Here is a photobucket link included to show why the paint scheme has some clear colors that may have looked out of place on a normal view setting. This paint scheme was created around a snowy mountain surroundings. These photos may help understand its colors. https://s1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa437/jimenerick/ Named the Rock Crawler Truck "The Peace Maker" it was meant to have US ARMY Supply Truck WW2 paint design with some dirty snow detailing painted on it. Will be posting some photos of another project for the contest a Hard Plastic "Scaler" Vehicle. Both of these may be "ODD Balls" Will update you when found and will post as we go along... Here are a few photos of the Hard Body Scale ??? " Rock Crawler Armored Personnel Carrier" Acquired the basic body at Big Lots Store, thought would make a very unique Rock Crawler R/C Oddball looking thing... Used R/C Tank accessories and old damaged parts on the final steps after painting to give it a more strong looking body shape, some home made crafted parts and some make do ways helped with the built and paint. NOTE; have to do with whatever is at hand, all painting is done with Spray Cans and many accessories are hand made or junk parts from other toys. Please bear with me...Here are photos of the "before" , during and after stages included in the Photobucket Link Body shape clears the suspension movement area very well, it will be an excellent Rock Crawler Scale ?? APC Vehicle. The imagination is the limit when modifying a Rock Crawler, it is very suitable for various designs and vehicle shapes. I strongly recommend Rock Crawlers to any hobbyist interested on R/C Scale vehicles. Rock Crawling Rocks !!! ** The final completed product is completed it is a nice Oddball R/C Rock Crawler..... Here is a photobucket link with some of the built progress and final product .See link bellow for the prior progress and updates... https://s1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa437/jimenerick/Striker%20Rock%20Crawler/ | |

| I strongly believe timing , visibility of planned activity , communication and discipline to follow rules did impacted participation. All did not go so well as it was planned, our Paint Contest contest visibility was obscured by the activities posted for the Toy for Tots at Hal's. Maybe next time we could get this planned when no other activity is to be posted. The Paint Contest page was visible at first when opening the El Paso R/C Forum but was out of view when the Toy for Tots announcement started and was posted on the front page of the El Paso r/c Forum. Then one had to dig into the Forum to find the Paint Contest announcement. Even pretty much nothing went as planned, Team participation was minimum, we had a very simple and humble contest and participants present did enjoyed it. I agree with you Icer One , It would have been most interesting if rules established were followed and Contest visibility when opening Forum's page have prevailed. There were rules stablished and agreed on for this contest , to have some kind of order. I'm glad Eric jr and I participated, even no rules were followed and our hopes to see many participate vanished, the few present did enjoyed it. There are "lessons learned" and lots of room for improvement for future activities. Probably we can all get together and brainstorm ideas to help us grow as a Team. After all we may all have to look and see how we can improve. This is a great Team with lots of potential to help our Hobby grow, let's move forward, build on what we have learned from this experience to help grow in the future. Wish you all a very happy and Merry Christmas... and Wonderful New Year !!! Best Regards, Erick & Eric jr. | |

| The first place trophy cost roughly $10.00 for a few bottles of paint, and 1.99 for some #11 Xacto blades. I sent you a PM regarding the rest of your post.

| First off partner, if I hated you, you would know it, so don't come at me like you know me! Second, you pm'd me, just say it here what do you have to hide? And you want to know how I know its because you've said it at Hal's, that you have someone from Arizona paint all your bodies. that's how I know, from the ass's own mouth. Look I don't care that you won, congratulations on you victory. It's how one wins and carries themselves is what makes a champion! so in my eyes you didn't follow the rules so its a shallow victory. now is that buggy body nice? yes it is. It is worthy of a trophy but the rules were clearly stated and agreed on and they were not followed so should you have been DQ'd yes just based on rules alone. That's why i posted what i posted now if you feel I wronged you, prove me wrong and everyone who knows me also know I'm a stand up guy I will publicly apologize and eat crow on my words till then I stand by my words without remorse.

| Well that was strong talk. Anyway, I believe the only one who followed the rules was erick who posted his progress right here on the correct time.
I have no idea if he showed up at TVH store but his job was a great looking one. Very impressive to me. I know Bobby could have turned in something incredible but I heard he wanted everyone to have a better chance and did not enter.
Not sure if that was true.
In conclusion, the rules and organization were not the best but looks like it went by from start to end which is good for it being the first one. I am arranging to have a place to paint some lexan. Hopefully will enter on the next paint face-off.
No fighting. this is just a humble and simple comment from a developing mind.

| I didnt post pics of my paint progress because I wasn't planning on entering and was just doing it for my scaler, but I do have progress pics of it on my phone, the only thing is that I still dont know how to upload pics here or they would be up. Another reason I entered it is because all the people that posted they were doing bodys didnt show and the table looked empty. | |

Bobby Yes, he does, but as I told George and even offered to let him speak to my father to confirm that I did mast, trim, and paint the body. Does my dad paint, yes, for many nationally well known racers. Did he pint this body, no he did not. All you had to do was ask. O, and "partner", never said you hated me, was just saying you were hateing on my paint.

Another reason I entered it is because all the people that posted they were doing bodys didnt show and the table looked empty. Oh. thanks for clearing it up. sorry. I was just saying what I thought. not trying to make anything but an observation to get the next event even better. Guess the video on how to upload pics is not up or done as I thought there was going to be one. But I can try and make one but not ensuring a piece of art. LoL But there was nobody not even writing what they were doing. I did paint one body but my pictures were not on good quality and it was a one color job with home depot can I found around. so not a chance. was just experimenting for the first time and trying to learn how to spray distance etc. I guess the easy way for me will be to do one or two color paint and get some stickers to make it better. painted a nascar body for onroad will get the m&m stickers for it as the paint is actually yellow.

| I don't hate your paint, if you could read, you would have read in my post that you quoted that I said that the paint was and Is worthy of a trophy.
Like I said prove me wrong
And Robert I didnt enter the contest because I didn't feel like painting. I have to feel a paint job for it to come out nice. I was and am painting a scaler hard body but not feeling it and it is coming out like crap and I'm making rookie mistakes but that's how it goes when you don't feel the paint you are laying down.
