Desert Downs Raceway Spring 2012 Schedule

Ok...my first question is will there be Sat races as well? And if yes, then what will that schedule look like. If there will be no Saturdays then I can try to make it if a few things happen. Now, if we can get the racing under way AT 1030 sharp and really push through the racing with no breaks etc, I can probably make it on Sundays. Hopefully the mains can be finished by 3pm. If we can accomplish this I can probably make most of these Sundays.

So did you guys get the bugs worked out of the timing system? Sorry I couldn't hang around. And if possible could you post the results from Saturday's races? Thanks

A friend of mine is coming in from out of town. Any days setup for practice at DD?

Why would you want them to "push through" the races?? Dude, we go there to relax and have a fun time (at least I do) not try and get through it in a hurry, and even at Hal's. I've been at Hals during the summer series where we were there til 2:00 in the morning, with more classes its going to take more time so just sit back and relax and settle in for a good time, thats why our friend Hoops brought food and would want us to mingle a little! We don't work hard all week so we can hurry up at the races where its supposed to be fun, it's not a national or anything, I think not. If you can't make the time oh well.

I'm actually going to sound hypocritical, but I've actually been saying what you're saying. I really enjoy spending time at Hal's for the RC races myself. You can even ask Efren. I usually tell Efren that I don't mind the races going late or long because I do enjoy it, but since my last couple of posts it has been made clear to me that DD will also race on the opposite days of Hal's too. I was just hoping I could make it on Sunday's, but I most likely won't, so life goes on. So when are you coming back Chris? Get your junk and get out here with us!!

Guys the schedule has been changed. Please be advised racing at Desert Downs will be on Saturdays effective this Saturday.

The races were suppose to be on Sunday but something has changed and now they are tomorrow. I dont know why it happened but it has. I also dont know what time its going to be. All I know is that Im out if they are not racing on Sunday.

I talked with Brian O Wed. night. He is really trying to do what's best for everyone. He vocalized his concerns to me about the Sat vs. Sun. dilemma. Brian is really trying to make this work. I don't see why the track can't be open both days. Those people who'd like to run on Sun. can do so. He made clear to me that he has been talking with a lot of people who were interested in coming from out of state including Mexico and Sunday racing makes it more difficult for these people. If you are only able to race on Sunday then contact Brian as I'm sure he'd be more than happy to accommodate you or anyone else. And as long as you have at least a decent group of racers, you should be good to go.
