| All this talking about sc4x4 got me thinking what if we did a shortcourse showdown? There is 3 tracks maybe we can pick a weekend and race at each track with a point system. I.e. Friday race party Saturday Hals Sunday desert downs., and this would be only for shortcourse only classes could be 4x4sc expert and sportsman and 2wd sc expert and sportsman. Maybe even make it a cash prize take a % from each entry and distribute to 1-3. What do you guys think? | |

| I'll be down for this....just give me a few months to finish up the Krag track.
As far as cash payouts are concerned. I've spoken to Charlie about this in the past. His accountant won't allow him to do cash payouts....something about gambling being illegal in Texas.
The problem is the IRS considers cash payouts as being income. If you do cash payouts the track would have to report to the IRS and give out w2's to the racers just like speedway park does. There is a reason why most tracks don't do cash payouts....it's too much trouble.

| I've been in music long enough now to understand how to get around things like this. Sometimes music can be a scary thing with 1099Misc forms and tips, but who really reports all their tips??
Here's what we could do for the cash payouts. If the entry fee's are $15 every racer that wished to can throw in an extra $5 or whatever you'd like. Those who throw in are the only ones involved. If you have 70 racers and 50 throw in an extra $5 that's $250.00. Take that $250.00 and divide it by the classes and whala, you have payouts. Only A mains pay out, and the payouts would be based on how many paid in each class. hahahaha it gets a little complicated and someone trustworthy would have to be the bookie. Sounds like a fun idea to start throwing around. I'm IN!!!!
And to be honest, I'd love to get payouts and receive a 1099 Misc every year, because then I could claim all my expenses in this hobby. Wouldn't that be cool??

| My point exactly too much trouble for a little payout.
Taxes are very complicated.....I'm no expert and I definitely don't want to get audited.
but I think you can only deduct hobby expenses up to the amount of your hobby income, which will be very minimal. Doesn't hurt to think outside of the box though.
You can ask Charlie but I already did and I don't think he want's to get auditied either.
Maybe something like hobby shop bucks is another alternative to cash payouts we can throw around.

| Bobby that's a good alternative. Just need to know if the other tracks are even game for this. Hector can you talk to Charlie about this. Brian are you in? | |

| Jason B - When are you going to step into a short course truck? It's been great racing with you in the other class, but maybe you can chase me for a change...lololol. Anyhow, are there any plans for you in the near future of stepping into short course racing? I even have an extra vehicle if you'd like to give it a whirl. It's my wife's traxxas slash which has some basic upgrades like proline shocks, a center diff, and good tires etc. Just let me know if you'd ever like to run it for fun; I'll prep it up for you. I'll be honest though, it's nothing like the Losi or AE trucks, but it can be fun just to jump in there with nothing to lose... | |

| Gino, I hear ya and really appreciate the offrer to use one of your racing SC's. I raced 2WD SC for a short while when I first arrived in El Paso, but have since sold it. Really miss that truck, as they are sooo fun to race! I have my hands full with the 3 classes I race now, but will definitely consider your offer to race in the very competitive SC class (I would probably be chassing alot of y'all in that class ). | |

| Jason you had that SCR dialed! You were the only racer that could take on SeƱor Short Bus himself aka Alex Ortega | |
