SPEED WORLD R/C RACEWAY New Track Layout Design for 2013

Well, in case you were wondering....



Well, I have been drafting up some designs and Joey and I have decided to try and get the layout that would be best. We have decided to get the track closest to "#4" as we can.

Here were the TOP concerns for a layout:

1) WE CANNOT PLEASE EVERYONE
2)FUN LAYOUT!
3) using the most area for track layout
4) Flowing lanes for smooth laps
5) more left to right movement
6) a layout that can be ran both directions (reverse race days)


Please keep in mind that this is a draft and we will try to use it and get the closest we can to this design. The drawing does not depict jumps, table tops, whoops etc...depending on the amount of clay we have will be the main factor.

We will be working on the track bright and early Wednesday 26 December 2012. If you want to stop by and lend a hand that would be great. The goal is to have the track completed in time for Saturday's race on 29 December 2012.

Only one thing I noticed on the drawing that I figured I'd mention. Doesn't look like there is room for Corner Marshals anywhere in that middle section. Be difficult for guys/gals to jump two or three lanes to get to a vehicle. Other than that it looks awesome!

Thanks to Joey for making everything possible at Speed World! Also special thanks to Jerrad Warhurst, Gino De Santis, Bryan OLeary, Jeff Raska, Christian Showers and anyone else I might be forgetting. You guys busted your asses today, and it was inspiring. They layout we went with is #2. We ALL took a good look at it and decided it would be best. I think Brian measured the total track length and it was 780 feet. That was an increase of over 120 feet. Well, here are some pics. Hope everyone likes it. Oh, we will be working on the track tomorrow starting at 8:30am, if you can make it any time after that it would be great. The track is done. Being as cold as it is, watering the track and it absorbing the water and drying is not as good as it would be in warmer temps. I suggest using a different tire untill we get the track some what more run in and the track "settles". Here are some more pics.

What is the surface like right now? Still need time to break in and get hard?

I am all the way in Arkansas. I may be making it down there next weekend for a few days to pack it all up and bring everything up here.
