Practice at Speed World 10-17-12

Jeseh and I went over to Speed World tonight for some practice laps on the track with the changes they've made to the layout. It was tons of fun! The track flows really nicely and is extremely fast. I took the SC 4x4 out tonight and was putting down some really fast laps. My fastest lap was a 22.5. Track had tons of traction, and I can't wait to race this weekend.

If you're ever planning on trying to make a practice, but can't decide whether or not to go; here are some things you might want to consider. First off, the track was prepped up pretty nicely and very few people are there, so you can really dial your vehicle in. The timing system is running and they can print your times. The RC Score Pro system will tell you everything you'd ever need to know. Not only will you see your lap times, but you will see total run time, 5/10/15/20 lap averages etc. I'd never had to opportunity to see these numbers before, and I really learned a lot from doing this. It will definitely show you the fastest way around the track and it will let you know what driving style is optimum.

Here is an example of how cool and accurate the system is if you use it to your advantage. I was running pretty consistent in the 23 sec range. I made nothing more than a ride height adjustment, and I dropped a whole second on my averages on my second battery. This is when I hit the 22.5. So there's no hype or exaggerating the fact that practice is probably the most important thing you can do to prepare yourself for race day; especially since the indoor track lends itself to consistency concerning track conditions.

Thanks to Ron and Joey for hanging out with my crazy kids and watching them for me while I put 60+ laps on the track.

Hey, I will "C'mon" wherever and whenever I want! Lol... Well then, congrats on your blazing lap time gino. Maybe I should focus more on RC racing, psshhh NOT! Lil C would have my head, I'm amazed he lets me go at all!!

They have made some changes to the track; not sure if you've heard, but the Ozzy jump is long gone, so I was able to shave a few seconds off. I actually did a couple of laps in the 22.8 range, but only one at the 22.5. the track is definitely faster without the Ozzy now. Chris - You guys need to try and race with us soon, it's always more fun when you're there.
