| While racing at SW this past Saturday, my front drive shaft kept coming out of the out drive for some strange reason. I checked the chassis brace and its not broken, but I went ahead and ordered an aluminum one just in case. The only thing that I can see is that the grub screw seemed to be coming loose and that's even with it having thread lock on it. Other than that i think im finally getting the hang of my buggy and starting to turn some laps with it. Any other suggestions on what to check to see why this is happening. I plan on rebuiding the front end this week. | |

| For thread lock/lock tite to work you have to make sure the two things (screw/hole) are oil free. Motor Spray, alcohol or similar products work. I use blue (med) thread lock. Once you make the surfaces clean, I make sure not to glob it on, I use enough so it doesn't ooze out when I tighten the screw. Lock tite every threaded screw that goes into metal. Screws that go into plastic, locktite is not necessary.
On the 8.2 the front diff outdrives, center diff outdrives and rear diff outdrives are all specific sizes. Make sure they are all on the right place. Check to see your drive shafts are not bent. Ensure your chassis braces are secure by flexing the chassis manually and seeing if that reveals a cause your driveshafts may be popping out. I would also check that you haven't mixed up your driveshafts with front/rear/center too.
I know you have been having issues with the car Jeremy. Don't get discouraged. There has to be a reason, just have to go over the car with the manual since if was a kit and you built it from the ground up. | |

| Thanks Ron, Ill take a look at the drive shafts tomorrow. I know that the outdrives are correct now after that last go around of burning up the spur gears lol. | |

| chassis might be bent also check that. I run the threaded aluminum chassis stiffeners not the full aluminum ones. | |

| Well took the buggy apart this morning. The chassis does not appear to be bent, the drive shafts are in the right spot and the out drives are in the correct spot. The only thing that I noticed was that I was missing 2 screws that hold the receiver tray down and that the grub screw that holds the drive shaft in place seemed a little loose. So I cleaned the screw and hole, placed new loctite on the threads and put it back together. Guess Ill try and swing by friday to give it test. | |
