Time to get my jalechicano slash back to stock. Bobby what do you think about letting the Torrents run with the slashes. Just let them use traxxas electronics if they'd like. I know charlie sold a ton of them in December!

What the heck is a Torrent, I've searched google and rctech and can't find anything about them.

Anyhow, I think we should stick to the slash 2wd and anyone with a Torrent can run novice or short course, if in fact it is a short course.

Torrent - http://www.ecxrc.com/ (look under vehicles)

Also in this same class would be the Duratrax Evader EXT2 - http://www.ecxrc.com/

I think they would all run fine in a novice SC truck class (brushless only). May not be fair running against the brushed systems (or maybe more fun watching us new guys kill ourselves with too much power on the track while we slide and launch all over the place).

I would like to run with just new (or less experienced) guys and not specifically with you guys with years of experience on your fancier rigs. I think that would be fun to start to learn to race. So I would opt for a more novice class rather than all the rules for specifics you can and can't do to your truck.

What might actually be fun is to team up a new guy up with an experienced guy to help them out and learn to race, with the new guy driving and the experienced guy (coach) helping them out in when to slow for turns, how to set up for the jumps etc.. That would be kind of cool to learn from you experts out there.

I set my slash up so I could easily pull the Castle SCT brushless motor and esc out and swap back in the brushed T12 quickly.

Jack

Thanks Jack, looks like a decent entry level truck.

The idea behind a spec class is that all drivers will be using the exact same equipment. This takes money or high-end equipment out of the equation and strictly makes this a drivers class.

We chose the slash because of it's low cost, durability, parts support and there are a ton of them out there.

We raced at the 2009 Traxxas Torc spec race at Las Vegas. Everyone was on the same playing field and it was all about the driver. Well all I can say it was the most fun I've had at a big event ever!!

Novice is great for begginers but it is open to any vehicle. And once you get three wins you will be moved into the class that best fits your vehicle.

Sounds good to me. All is going good but my wallet put an 8 dollar servo in my slash and it has no nerf bars and jacking the post let's race brushed stadium trucks. We have some.

forgot to add that the torment aka "torrent"(adrian jale chicano wording) xD
is very similar to a slash and a little cheaper, I would either put them on their own class or to save some time and make it more fun put all stock brushed SC Trucks on same class as Hal's is doing it and it is fun.

Torment .... Sorry bobby. The chassis is similar but the nice thing about them is they some with a Spektrum 2.4 radio and receiver. The downfall is the esc is not the best and the servo isn't either.
